Chapter fourteen

Closer

“Well?” May asked as she saw her boyfriend walking out of the gym with his hands in his pockets. “How did it go?”

“It went fine.” Ash replied. “But I hope she will be okay.” Ash replied as he looked back at the water gym. “Even though she was my girlfriend I never saw her that sad before.”

“Well that what happens when you break up with someone.” May replied.  “Women are more emotional people so breaking up with people they love really gives a huge impact on their life.”

“Thank goodness I’m not a girl.” Ash muttered.

“You do know I heard that right?” May replied with her arms crossed and shifted her Ash at the boys face.

Ash sweat dropped and just smiled.

The young gym leader slowly descended to her feet holding her heart as tears ran from her face as footsteps starter to grow closer towards her. But the young red head didn’t seem to notice this and just sit there on the cold cement with her face staring back at her by a puddle of water.

The face that was reflecting back was a face of a depressed and broken hearted 18 year old water type gym leader who has not just lost the man in her life but the reason to even keep living.

“Misty!” a male voice called.

Misty looked up slightly and saw it was her old friend, Tracey. Tracey knelt down in front of Misty and notice she wasn’t herself, even the young pokemon assistant had never seen his friend in such a state.

“Misty. What happened to you?” Tracey asked.

Misty wanted to speak but the words didn’t want to come out of lips. All she could do was cry in Tracey’s arms all out of a sudden and burst out tears.

“His…” Misty begun.  “His gone Tracey.  His gone from me forever!”

“It’s okay Misty.” Tracey replied as he wrapped his arms around the crying gym leader. “Everything will be okay.”

“Drew their not here.” Dawn replied. “And look we are all wet now.”

“Guess we will never get this closer you and I want.” Drew sighed.

“Drew, Dawn?”  May said in shock to find the two in front of Ash’s home. “What are you…doing…here?”

“Closer.” Drew replied, “Nothing more.”

“This isn’t the right time Drew.” Ash replied. “I mean May isn’t ready…”

“I’m ready Ash.”  May nodded. “We have to face this later on.”  May replied as she took a few steps ahead of Ash. “Drew.” May begun in a soft voice. “I just want to say that I forgive what you had done.” May paused and took a breath of relief. “And during our relationship I had always loved you.”

“May…” Drew started but decided not to say anymore.

“Dawn.” May said as she turned her direction towards the young bluenette. “Looks after him okay?”

“I will May. “ Dawn nodded. “Drew?” Dawn asked. “Should we go now?”

“Yeah let’s go.” Drew nodded as they started to make their way away from May and Ash. Drew looked over his shoulder and glanced at May and muttered. “I loved you as well May.”

As the rain pored over the two Ash walked over to May who was still watching Dawn and Drew walk away from her sight.

“May.”  Ash started as he placed his hand on the brunette’s shoulder. “That was very brave of you.”

“I know.” May replied. “I was only brave enough because you were by my side. I don’t know what I would of done if you weren’t by my side.” May replied as she turned around to face Ash.  “I love you Ash and nothing is going to change that.” May replied as she tossed her arms over Ash’s shoulders and embraced him.

“I love you too May. “ Ash replied as he wrapped his arms around his girlfriend. “I’m really sorry if I didn’t say that until now.”

“It’s okay Ash.” May replied. “I had a feeling that you loved me from the start.” May added as she kissed Ash on the lips in the rain and soon Ash gave in and kissed back. They felt their tongues touch a few times and they felt the passion in their kiss.  They didn’t mind getting wet and cold just as long…

…as long they had each other.
